Meeting last week, the District #18 Board of Education approved a change for the community’s Veterans’ Day Program to be held next month.
Anticipating that the Elgin Public-Pope John Wolfpack volleyball team may be one of eight teams from across the state playing in the D-1 State Volleyball Tournament, the board heard Principal Greg Wemhoff say the annual salute to veterans will now be held Wednesday, Nov. 9. The program which features participation from students from all Elgin schools as well as American Legion, V.F.W. and their auxiliary members, will again be held at the EPS gymnasium, beginning at 11 a.m.
Regardless how state volleyball plays out, the program will be held on the new date.
