District #18 hires Spanish teacher, accepts resignation

Simple arithmetic.
The District #18 Board of Education did some addition and subtraction as part of personnel moves which took place Wednesday night.
First, the addition. Superintendent Dan Polk received a signed contract during the meeting from Haley Guenther. She will teach Spanish, starting in the 2920/2021 school year.
A December 2019 graduate of Wayne State College, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree with majors in business, information technology education, marketing (secondary education) and world language — Spanish (secondary education). She is the daughter of Allen and Kelli Guenther of West Point.
Guenther fills the position created by the resignation of Amy Klein in the summer of 2019. For the current school year, EPS students were taught Spanish through a distance learning program.
Second, the subtraction. Polk announced to the board that social studies teacher/head wrestling coach Trey Rossman had submitted his resignation. Rossman told The Elgin Review he has accepted a similar position with Ravenna Public School.
At the conclusion of the current school year, Rossman will have completed three years as a teacher at EPS.
