Crusaders Finish Seventh at State Golf Meet

KEARNEY — In fourth place after day one of the Class D State Golf Tournament, Pope John Central Catholic was in contention for a medal.

Unfortunately for the Crusaders, they were unable to keep pace on day two and slipped to seventh in the final team standings posted at the Kearney Country Club, site of the tournament.

Coach Dan Jonseth’s team finished with a team score of 700 for the two-day tournament. Winning the tournament was Archbishop Bergan who shot a 327-321 to finish with a 648. Other team scores were Franklin 681, Stanton 690, Ewing 697, Pender 697, Creek Valley 699, Potter-Dix 710, Cambridge 715, Bertrand 716, West Point CC 721, Garden County 727, Alma 748, Pleasanton 750 and Heartland Lutheran 752.
