Comeback falls short at Fullerton

FULLERTON — Trailing by just two points at the start of the fourth quarter, Elgin Public-Pope John couldn’t stop Fullerton as the Warriors prevailed 45 to 39 Tuesday night.
In a game which saw Fullerton try to give away the victory, EPPJ just couldn’t make the crucial shots when they needed to in the game’s final eight minutes.
Fullerton scored the first four points of the fourth quarter (all on free throws) to take a 33 to 27 lead. Then, after a trey by Taylynne Charf, the Warriors scored seven straight points to push the lead to 10 points (40 to 30) with 2:12 remaining in the contest.
