Christmas Day snowstorm drops 6-8 inches

The first major snowstorm of the season gave Elgin and much of Nebraska a ‘White Christmas.’ An estimated six to eight inches of snow, accompanied by high winds, hit in the early morning hours Monday. The intensity of the storm lessened to the point that by Monday evening crews were able to begin to clear streets and sidewalks. On Tuesday morning, residents were out clearing sidewalks and driveways, helping neighbors when needed.
