ELGIN — The Wolfpack won the second half on the field against Guardian Angels Central Catholic.
This week they hope to win both halves of Friday night’s game to secure their first victory of the season.
Last Friday, the Bluejays built a huge first half lead and went on to claim a 49 to 20 victory over the Wolfpack and hand the home town their third consecutive loss to start the season.
“We (the coaches) told the players after the game ‘we won the second half,’” Co-Coach Matt Euse said. “We came out in the second half and took control of the line of scrimmage.”
Nowhere was that more evident than the Wolfpack’s first drive of the second half. They took the kickoff and got physical.
Play after play, quarterback Michael Selting and running back Gavin Kallhoff pounded the ball into the heart of the Bluejays’ defense, picking up positive yardage.
They wrapped up the four-minute drive with an 8-yard touchown pass to Kallhoff.
