On March 14, Cooper, Peyton, and Gracyn, the children of Adam and Kelly Seier, were in an accident on the way home from school. Cooper was hospitalized for ninety-three days after suffering multiple injuries including facial trauma, aortic dissection, a traumatic head injury, a right femur fracture, pulmonary contusions, and splenic injury, all of them life-threatening. He is now home and is going to therapy four days a week in Columbus.
There will be a benefit for the Seier family at Don Schmitz’s Arena, just north of Elgin, on September 12-13. This two-day benefit event kicks off with a 10:00 am Cowboy Church service on September 12. Both days include a two-man ranch sort (a timed event where riders must sort cattle in two pens in correct numerical order). Along with the sort, there will also be a Silent Auction and Potluck. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish.
Cooper’s dad Adam said on Sunday, “Cooper’s doing great. It’s a slow process, but he’s doing great.” Adam also mentioned that Cooper will be attending the benefit, and that they hope it will be a fun, joyful event, where everyone in attendance will have a wonderful time.
All are invited to come out and have fun while also supporting a great cause and the Seier family.
