Elgin native Ted Baum has used his fast-talking ways to qualify for the 2010 World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC). Baum was one of eight competitors to move on from the second qualifying contest held at Crawford, NE on October 9.
Baum graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in December of 1979. He called his first sale on January 2, 1980. Five years later, he competed for the first time in a WLAC event at Humeston, IA. Crawford’s contest was the 16th of his career.
