Wolfpack wrestlers competed Saturday at the Stanton Wrestling Invitational. Four members of the team brought home medals from the tournament which had some great wrestlers. Results were:
113 pounds — Ryan Pelster (EPPJ) won by decision 6 to 5 over Dylan Moore (Plainview); Irvin Escobar (Wakefield) defeated Pelster 9 to 2 in the championship match.
132 – Isaias Solorio (Madison) won by pin over Andrew Fangman (EPPJ) in 4:29; Fangman pinned Nick Penlerick (Osmond) in 2:07; Fangman (Elgin/ Pope John) won by injury default over Franky Nuno (Wakefield); Colby Wolff (Stanton) 8-2 won by tech fall (17-1) over Fangman; Alex Calderon (Wakefield) pinned Fangman in 2:26. Sixth place.
152 – Shane Beckman (EPPJ) lost 6 to 4 to Jacob Gaudreault (Madison); Beckman won 6 to 2 over Tucker Sjogren (Louisville); Beckman won 6 to 0 over Tristan Weitzenkamp (Scribner Snyder Guardian Angels); Jacob Gaudreault (Madison) 6 to 2 over Beckman. Fourth place.
195 – Trent Wagner (Madison) pinned Beau Heithoff (EPPJ) in 1:23; Heithoff pinned Jesse Schlect (Scribner Snyder Guardian Angels) in 1:12; Heithoff pinned Nolan Casey (Laurel-Concord) in 3:38; Heithoff won in sudden victory over Ben Barelman (Laurel-Concord) 6 to 4; Heithoff pinned Joe Braithwait (Norfolk Catholic) in 2:51. Third place.
