PLAINVIEW — The Wolfpack boys basketball team earned their second victory of the season on Friday night with a 59 to 27 victory over Plainview.
Playing on the Pirates’ home floor, the Wolfpack overcame a slow start. They trailed four to three after eight minutes of play. However, momentum quickly shifted to the Wolfpack as they outscored the Pirates 14 to four in the second quarter to take a 17 to 8 lead at halftime.
Then, in the second half, the Wolfpack’s offense got into high gear, scoring 42 points over the final two quarters to seal the victory.
The fourth quarter was particularly kind to the Wolfpack as they outscored the Pirates 24 to eight.
Leading the way was senior Nick Heithoff, one of three EPPJ players to score in double figures. He finished with 13 points, followed by Zach Polk with 12 and Jake Eischeid added 10.
Plainview (1-2) was led in scoring by Caleb Nuehring with 10 points.
Saturday Action
The Wolfpack dominated action in all four quarters Saturday night to claim a 56 to 27 victory over Cedar Valley.
