Basketball
EHS Boys: CEDAR RAPIDS – The Eagles placed third at the Cedar Rapids Holiday Tournament with a 63 to 29 victory over Rising City. In the first round, Burwell edged out the Eagles, 67 to 51.
EHS Girls: CEDAR RAPIDS – The Lady Eagles claimed third place at the Cedar Rapids Holiday Tournament with a win over Rising City, 28 to 25. In Friday’s opening round game, Burwell defeated the Lady Eagles, 36 to 23.
PJCC Boys: ELGIN – The Crusaders dropped two games in their Holiday Tournament. In the first round game, Wynot topped the Crusaders, 50 to 40. In consolation finals, Humphrey St. Francis won, 56 to 40.
PJCC Girls: ELGIN – The Lady Crusaders placed third in the PJCC Holiday Tournament with a win over Humphrey St. Francis, 61 to 55. In the opening round, Wynot had their number, winning 55 to 48.
