Pelster named recipient of Black Hills Energy’s highest company honor

Black Hills Energy employee in Albion, Gas Operations Supervisor Clayton Pelster, has received the company’s highest employee recognition from company CEO Linn Evans.

Pelster is one of six receiving this year’s CEO Summit Award.

The distinction acknowledges superior professional achievement and community service while supporting the development of a culture that recognizes performance, reinforces company values and standards and promotes teamwork.

“The CEO Summit Award recognizes our coworkers who exemplify our company’s mission, vision and values,” Evans said. “This year’s recipients exhibit the qualities we cultivate throughout our organization. The awardees are individuals who are value-driven, generous with their time, strong in character and are focused on making life better for our customers and our communities.”

Pelster is recognized for his exceptional leadership across the Albion and Columbus districts while also providing support to the Norfolk area during a leadership transition. Responsible for more than 36 employees and service to approximately 40,000 customers across northeast Nebraska, he has consistently delivered strong results while fostering employee engagement, collaboration and safety. His leadership has strengthened relationships with local communities and helped reinforce Black Hills Energy’s reputation as a trusted community partner.

Outside of work, Pelster serves as president of the St. Michael’s Parish School Board and as an executive board member for Habitat for Humanity in Columbus. He is active in his church, supports local volunteer fire departments and coaches youth football, basketball, baseball and soccer. His dedication to serving others reflects the values that define the CEO Summit Award.

Evans selected this year’s honorees from peer-nominated employees throughout the company’s service territory. The other honorees this year are James Curren, service specialist, Newcastle, Wyo.; Jimmy Gulledge, field measurement technician, Fayetteville, Ark.; Donny Munger, operations technician, Newcastle, Wyo.; Rosevin “Vhine” Hull, project manager II, Rapid City, S.D.; and Elaine Hegler, senior paralegal, Denver.
