The Elgin City Council met in regular session on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., pursuant to posted notice.
Mayor Schmitt called the meeting to order, and announced the location of the Open Meeting Act. Mayor Schmitt also opened the One and Six Year Street Hearing.
Council members present were Craig Niewohner, John “Mike” Dvorak, Leigh Kluthe, and Jeremy Young.

• Quote received from Blue Valley Public Safety for two new outdoor emergency sirens for $65,368.00
• Increase trash rates to $22.00 per month

• Regular meeting and One and Six Year Street Hearing adjourned at 9:04 p.m.

• Sheriff’s report: June-73 hours 18 minutes and eleven 911 calls; July-75 hours 49 minutes and six 911 calls

• Next regular meeting will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026
