Having served as president of the District #18 Board of Education since 2022, Lisa Welding will continue in that capacity following a reorganization of the board last week.
Meeting Wednesday night, January 14, Superintendent Mike Brockhaus presided briefly over the meeting as the board elected a new president.
Welding was the only nomination for the position which is voted on every January. The vote was 5-0 with Welding abstaining.
After the meeting, she told the board that she had filed for re-election to the school board.
Just as there was no change in the president’s position, there was also no change in the other board officer positions.
On 5-0 votes with the nominee abstaining, the board approved the following officer positions:
Vice president – Todd Heithoff
Secretary – Ron Bode
Treasurer – Luke Hinkle
